When Tiverton WorkHub first opened, the obvious focus was the space itself.

Desks. Offices. Meeting rooms. Reliable internet. Somewhere professional to work.

All of that still matters. But over time, it has become clear that the most valuable part of the WorkHub is not the furniture, the Wi-Fi or even the building.

It is the conversations that happen inside it.

More Than a Place to Work

Small business owners often work alone.

Even when they have staff, customers and suppliers around them, the responsibility for everything can still sit heavily on one person.

There is always another decision to make.

Another idea to consider.

Another problem to solve.

Another task that keeps being pushed to the bottom of the list.

That is why we are building Tiverton WorkHub into more than a coworking space.

We want it to become a place where people can work, meet, think, connect and ask for help without feeling that they need to have everything figured out first.

A place where business owners can walk through the door and say:

“I’m stuck.”

“I’ve got an idea, but I don’t know what to do with it.”

“My business is busy, but it feels out of control.”

“I know something needs to change.”

“I just need someone to talk it through with.”

Those conversations matter.

Why I Am Opening My Diary

I have spent more than thirty years working in and around small businesses.

I have experienced success, failure, pressure, uncertainty, growth and the challenge of trying to do too much at once.

I do not have every answer.

But I have learned how to listen, ask useful questions and recognise when a problem is not really the problem.

Someone may think they need a new website.

What they may actually need is more confidence in how they present their business.

Someone may think they need more marketing.

What they may actually need is a clearer offer or a better way to follow up enquiries.

Someone may think they need more customers.

What they may actually need is more structure, support or time to focus.

That is why I have started opening my diary to more conversations with local business owners.

Not formal consultancy.

Not a sales pitch.

Not an hour of jargon.

Just a useful conversation about where you are, what is getting in the way and what might help.

What These Conversations Are For

You do not need to arrive with a polished business plan.

You do not need to know exactly what support you need.

You do not even need to be certain that I am the right person to help.

The purpose of the conversation is to make things clearer.

We might talk about:

- Your business idea

- Marketing and visibility

- Websites and branding

- Sales and follow-up

- Productivity and overwhelm

- Finding the right workspace

- Building useful local connections

- Turning an idea into a practical next step

Sometimes I may be able to help directly.

Sometimes the right answer will be to introduce you to someone else.

Sometimes the most useful outcome will simply be a clearer head and one practical action to take next.

That is still progress.

Building a Better Business Community

The long-term aim for Tiverton WorkHub is simple.

We want local businesses to feel less isolated.

We want people to have somewhere they can go when they need focus, advice, energy or connection.

We want freelancers, start-ups, home-based businesses and growing companies to feel that there is a community around them.

That includes coworking, meeting rooms, events, networking and business addresses.

But it also includes support.

Real support.

The kind that begins with listening before offering solutions.

The kind that helps someone move forward instead of giving them another long list of things to do.

The kind that reminds people they do not have to build a business alone.

Come and Have a Conversation

I am opening more space in my diary for informal conversations with local business owners.

You may have a clear challenge.

You may have an idea you want to explore.

You may simply feel that your business could be working better, but you are not sure where to begin.

Come and talk it through.

There is no pressure to buy anything and no expectation that you need to have all the answers.

The first step is simply starting the conversation.

You can meet me at Tiverton WorkHub, or get in touch through this website to arrange a suitable time.

Sometimes one good conversation is enough to get things moving again.
